What a fantastic day we had in the Drill Hall! Bright Festival umbrellas led the way into our Youth Creativity exhibition which was ablaze with talent and colour. Visitors were presented with a wonderful display of art in all its forms – painting, digital art, photography, feltwork, pottery and dance. Our thanks go to Cicely, Bryony, Grace, Izzy, Lucy, Chloe, Isabelle, Holly, Dance Academy 1 and both Chepstow and Wyedean Schools for providing us with an amazing exhibition. You did the festival and yourselves proud. Our thanks, too, to our wonderful volunteers and to Pobl. See you all next year!
14-year-old Grace moved to the Chepstow area last year. Creative art is an important part of her life, as she has been involved in performing arts since she was 5. Grace has always loved drawing and painting and has chosen art as her GCSE option for next year. Grace enjoys art and would encourage everyone to get involved in creative arts.
‘I think creativity is important because it makes me happy, helps me to express myself and be confident to be me’.
Izzy is an illustrator and cartoonist who creates character art through both digital and traditional means. With a love for colour and stylization, I hope to create comic books and graphic novels in the future.
Cicely is an aspiring photographer who will be studying the subject next year for her A-levels. She uses a Canon 200D with a Sigma 18-250mm lens and enjoys experimenting with different genres of photography.
Chaos Music and Drama Society are a group of adults and children who get together to perform pantos and musicals in Chepstow. The Society has been going, in various forms, for over 110 years, and look forward to many years in Chepstow.
